Excise & Taxation Department (E&TD), Islamabad is starting Online Appointment Service for New vehicle registration due to current situation of COVID19 pandemics. This service will be properly start on 22-06-2020. All citizens, who want to avail online appointment service can access subjected service under the section "Online Services" available on website of Excise & Taxation Department, Islamabad (www.islamabadexcise.gov.pk). Following SOPs will be adopted for New Vehicle Registration Appointment Service:

  • Applicant can get only one time slot against one vehicle.
  • Applicant visit to E&TD, Islamabad on defined date and time (time slot assign by the appointment system).
  • Applicant strictly follow the COVID19 SOPs (i.e, keep distancing, properly cover mouth and nose with mask, etc.)
  • Follow the instruction of the concerned Department.
  • Applicant should bring following documents for Vehicle registration:
    • Biometric verification (obtain from any e-sahulat centre) of applicant, who is going to register vehicle in his/her name.
    • Photocopy of CNIC of the applicant.
    • Application to the Excise & Taxation Officer for the registration of new vehicle.
    • Proof of purchase, which can be either of the following:
      • Incase of locally manufactured vehicle, Sale Invoice, Sale Certificate and related documents will be required.
      • Incase of imported vehicle, Bill of Entry, Bill of Lading, old registration book, attested copy of Importer's Passort and related documents will be required.
      • Incase of auctioned vehicle, auction voucher and related documents shall be required.
    • Residential Proof, which can be either of the following:
      • Utility Bills (i.e, electricity, sui-gas, etc.), CNIC, Lease Agreement, Registry, Allotment letter of House/Plot/Shop, office card/appointment letter
      • (incase of Government servant) or rental agreement shall be acceptable as residential proof in Islamabad.
    • If transfer is involved then attested transfer letter and CNIC of transferor will be required.

Door Step Service already functional, applicant can book the vehicle registration appointment and Excise & Taxation Department, Islamabad official team come to applicant home for the vehicle registration.   1. Annual Motor vehicle tax / Token tax payment date of Islamabad registered vehicles is extended to 30-09-2021 (fine / penalty will not impose before extended payment date).

  2. Smart card holder vehicles will pay their annual token tax on following designated points:

    • Excise & Taxation Department, Sector H-9, Islamabad

    • National Bank of Pakistan Branches in Islamabad

    • List of Post Offices, which can collect annual Token Tax of Smart card holder vehicles (having engine capacity more then 1000 cc) is mention below:

      • POST MALL, F-7 MARKAZ, ISLAMABAD

      • DG POST OFFICE, G-8, ISLAMABAD

      • F-8 MARKAZ (HSG), ISLAMABAD

      • G-10 MARKAZ, ISLAMABAD

      • POST OFFICE, G-9 MARKAZ, ISLAMABAD

      • POST OFFICE, F-6 MARKAZ, ISLAMABAD

      • POST OFFICE, 1-1-/4 (LSG), ISLAMABAD

      • POST OFFICE, G-6 MARKAZ, ISLAMABAD



  3. All Private vehicles having paper/Booklet will pay their annual token tax in Excise & Taxation Department, Islamabad. Their paper Books/Booklets are convert into smart cards, so that all islamabad registered vehicles owner can avail online services which are provided by the Excise & Taxation Department, Islamabad.
